Whether the Great Horned Owl appears in dreams, visions, waking life or synchronicities, it is a sign and message of death. It could be symbolic or literal. Death to a relationship, death to a life. Death to a habit or death in the natural. There's no spiritual warfare against marriages...heaven is cutting and clearing out connections with the wrong people.
